Psychotherapy with Rebecca, MSC, MBACP

I am a warm, approachable and professional psychotherapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. My clinical work spans a diverse range of settings—including inpatient and outpatient treatment centres, trauma clinics, higher education institutions, the charity sector and private practice.

I bring together a rich foundation of clinical knowledge, lived experience and therapeutic expertise to support individuals through an integrative, client-centred approach tailored to their unique needs. My work is rooted in collaboration and guided by the core values of the person-centred approach: empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence.

My Approach
I support clients in reconnecting with the innate wisdom held within their bodies and internal systems. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Polyvagal Theory and nervous system literacy, while also drawing on psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalytic perspectives. These latter approaches support deeper exploration of unconscious patterns and early relational experiences that may continue to shape present-day behaviours, emotions and relationships.

Together, we explore the stories the nervous system holds—particularly how trauma may manifest in survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze and fawn. These adaptive patterns, while protective, often shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships. By recognising and honouring these responses, we begin the process of healing with respect and compassion.

Psychoeducation is an important element of my sessions, empowering clients with insight into the ‘why’ behind their symptoms. This understanding creates a pathway for moving from conflict with one’s body toward collaboration—helping individuals shift out of stuck patterns in a more regulated and supported way.

My approach is holistic, body-based and relational. I work with a deep awareness of somatic and unconscious processes to help increase insight, deepen self-awareness and support the release of long-held patterns that may be impacting self-worth, relationships and overall well-being. This process opens space for renewed direction, possibility and healing.

Therapeutic Values
I work with curiosity, compassion and profound respect for the creative ways the human system adapts to adversity. My practice is trauma-informed and attuned to the full spectrum of experiences and expressions of distress.
